Queensland Manufacturing Institute (QMI) has partnered with Inspired Education Australia, to offer you a Design thinking Masterclass using sketching and LoFi prototyping (additive manufacturing), especially designed for high school teachers.
Design Thinking is an approach to learning that focuses on developing teachers’ and students’ creative confidence, and facilitate a proven formula for innovation. Design Thinking has also been recognised as a key 21st century skill for our advancing manufacturing and engineering industry in Queensland.
We’re offering a one day, teacher professional development workshop for high school teachers on sketching and additive manufacturing (3D printing / Lo-fi Prototyping), centred around Design Thinking, delivering suitable teaching strategies for the classroom. This full-day workshop will be catered and offers an all inclusive session and practical, hands-on experiences including:
•Full comprehension of the Design Thinking approach for teaching to Australian curriculum standards
•Sketching techniques around task-based activities for classroom teaching
•Designing + Lo-fi prototyping centred around various teaching strategies
•Design studio facilitation, methods, tasks and strategy •30 days of ongoing learning and email support
•Supporting learning material and resources
•Workshop content shared via email
Presenter, Rashan Senanayake, is a highly respected thought leader and entrepreneur in the Education and the Design industries. Rashan is passionate about combining education, design and business. The Gateway to industry schools program (GISP) for Advanced Manufacturing is funded and supported by the Queensland Government and hosted by QMI. This event can contribute to the QCT professional learning requirements. A certificate of attendance will be issued on request. Please note min 12 is required for scheduled Masterclass to go ahead. **GISP-AM Schools can apply for rebate after event through the GISP-AM Manager
